Yaël Ossowski, born in Montréal, Québec and raised in North Carolina has lived in four countries but currently calls Vienna home. He works in public affairs and political activism in both Europe and North America, and is still a freelance journalist and media consultant. He previously worked as a national investigative reporter and Spanish translator for an American news organization, and has been published in major newspapers and magazines on four continents. He is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and hosts a weekly podcast called The Innocents Abroad. He studied at Concordia University in Montréal, the University of Vienna, and will soon receive his MA in Philosophy, Politics, Economics (PPE) from the CEVRO Institute in Prague. 

 

Agostina Lorenzini - Deputy Chairwoman 

                 Founder and CEO of EXIRE - Entrepreneurship and Liberty. An start-up focused in entrepreneurship and women empowerment. Agostina is a passionate economist focused in FinTech, Data Science and Entrepreneurship. She has lived in Argentina, France, Belgium, USA and now Vienna. 

“I am curious and optimist. I love teaching, mentoring and helping other to pursue their goals. I have never been afraid of changes, instead I like challenges. One of the most important values in my life are the respect and love for individual freedom and science”.   
Her hobbies are outdoor sports, reading, learning new things and cooking for people that I love. 

 
 

Dr. Danny Arlen de Jesús Gómez Ramírez - Deputy Chairman 

                 Danny A. J. Gómez-Ramirez is a multidisciplinary researcher in the areas of cognitive science, artificial intelligence and (pure and applied) Mathematics. He is the founder and leader of Network ARMAINTE and of the multidisciplinary research meta-project Artificial Mathematical Intelligence, pursuing to create a cognitively-inspired interactive artificial agent being able to solve mathematically-based problems at a human style basis with a wide scope of applications to related areas like economics, finances and medicine. 

He is an active (scientific and mentor) speaker with an experience of more than 12 years giving conferences in more than 7 countries and including a wide spectrum of topics.

Additionally, he an active musician and dancer (and dance instructor), where he combines his knowledge in cognitive science for teaching people how to dance from the mind within his project 'cognitive dancing'.
 

 

Dr. Ulrich Hammerschmidt – Secretary

                 Ulrich Hammerschmidt Ulrich is one of the founders of i2i associates, a consultancy focused on global business development in the ICT sector. The past 15 years he worked in leading IT and telecommunication companies (Deutsche Telekom, Telecom Italia, Telekom Austria), with a strong focus on global business development, transformation and strategic C-level partnerships.

Ulrich’s academic background includes law, business administration and telecommunication.

 

Ron Geier-Johnnie – Deputy Secretary

                 Ron Geier-Johnnie is from New York City and moved to Vienna is 2016.  He has over 20 years of Executive Management experience in the Airline Industry and is currently a Test Engineer with BWIN.   He graduated from Brooklyn College with a Degree in Economics, Business Management and Finance.

 

 

Michael Shea – Treasurer

                 Michael has thirty years of experience in the technology sector, working in the United States, Canada and since 2015 in Vienna.  He has run a global consulting services business, founded of multiple businesses and is currently advising startups in the United States as well as actively working with a Blockchain startup in London.  Michael holds a Mechanical Engineering degree, a Master’s of Engineering and a MBA in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

 

 

Samuel Collins – Deputy Treasurer

                    Samuel is a wealth manager for an asset management firm with clients around Europe, after previously working in sales and fundraising, he has now chosen to set up his life in Vienna after having fallen under its charm as he continues to expand on his experiences of being a global citizen. Growing up as a true third-culture kid throughout different continents and cultures he has finally found a home for himself after having completed his MSc in Nottingham, UK, coincidentally the country in which he was born before moving across the channel for the next 10 years of his life.

His next project includes setting up his own consulting company here in the CEE region in collaboration with his old university colleagues.

 

Steven Donald - Member Recruitment

                    Steve is a Canadian having lived in Austria for approximately ten years. Steve was instrumental in creating the vision for the MLIBC, previously co founder of an ICT consultancy, and a VP of Global Innovation at Deutsche Telekom. Previously having lived and worked in Canada, Thailand, Finland, and Germany.
